Jesus tells us in Matthew 15:12–15 that He speaks in parables to hide the secrets of the kingdom from some and reveal them to others. The minister [and commentary author] Matthew Henry translates this by sharing that parables make the things of God “more plain and easy” to those willing to be taught, and “at the same time more difficult and obscure to those who [are] willfully ignorant.” This CORE Seminar will “sit at the feet of Jesus,” and examine some of His parables. Through this we hope to learn aspects of the Kingdom, of forgiveness, of stewardship and of preparedness.
