As they study the New Testament, many Christians today are asking important questions about what they are reading. These questions include church leadership. They’re seeing that the Bible presents a clear structure for how the church should be led, centered around the role of elders. This study will help us understand what God’s Word says about biblical eldership and will address topics such as: why elders are needed [Acts 14:21–23]; who is qualified to serve as an elder [1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9]; and, the responsibility of elders [Acts 20:17, 28–32]. Our goal in this study is to faithfully follow Christ’s design for His church, shaped by Scripture alone.
