As Christians study the New Testament in depth they are beginning to ask questions about the content that they are reading. In their study, they’re seeing that the Bible presents a clear structure of how the church should be led - centered around the “office” of elders. Our study on elders will be continuous as we seek to understand what God’s Word says about biblical eldership. In these studies, we will address topics such as: why elders are needed [Acts 14:21–23]; who is qualified to serve as an elder [1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9]; and, the responsibility of elders [Acts 20:17, 28–32]. Our goal in these studies is to faithfully follow Christ’s design for His church and shaped by Scripture alone.
