We believe that belonging to a local church is the call to every disciple of Jesus Christ. So, taking your NEXT STEP in church membership means that you are committing to being an active part of the work that God is doing in and through His local church here at FBC. We pray that as you put your gifts to work you will see all that God wants to do in you and through you.
Want to Become a Member of FBC Portland?
We’re excited to have you consider our church family as the place you want to belong. Our Membership Class, Membership Matters, is the place to go to hear about what we believe God is doing at FBC.
Requirements for Membership:
The most important step is that you have repented of your sin and have entered into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
That you have been baptized by being fully immersed in water.
That you have read and agree with FBC Portland’s Statement of Faith.
That you have completed all sessions of our membership class, Membership Matters.
That you have completed a membership interview with a church deacon after you have completed Membership Matters. This provides us an opportunity to get to know you and your story.
Discovering Your NEXT STEP at FBC
Membership Matters consists of 2 sessions which are designed to lasts about 2 hours. These sessions are facilitated by staff and allow you to meet other new families at FBC Portland. In each session, we hope you discover what it means to be a disciple of Christ and how you can be a part of what God is doing at FBC Portland.
