The Kid's Summer Lunch Program runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 11am-12pm in June and July. The purpose of the program is to provide food security & support to kids who may be missing the free/reduced breakfast & lunch that the school year provides them. We also have a heart to share the Gospel with the kids of our community. They are provided a Bible story, craft, & games to create a fun safe place to gather during summer even if they don't need the food provided.

In 2019, a total of 2,049 lunches were served in June and July. All meals were boxed at FBC and picked up and delivered by volunteers. We weren’t able to gather with the kids in 2020 but they were provided a Bible story or craft with each meal. The following churches and ministries participated in helping to support the kids; Church of the Nazarene, McKendree Memorial UMC, Oasis Seventh Day Adventist Church, Portland Church of Christ, Portland C.A.R.E.S. and Portland Public Library. Thank you to all the volunteers who made it happen! We’re looking forward to supporting our community again in 2022.
