Reading your Bible cover to cover doesn’t have to be a legalistic goal or an item to check off of a list. At FBC, we encourage you to read through your Bible so that you can know God and His Story more deeply. We believe that as you journey through His Word that you will grow in your love, trust & obedience towards Him and His mission.

Here are a few quick tips to help you read the Bible within a year’s time:

  • Consider tackling this with your family, with some friends, or with your Community Group.

  • As you begin your plan, don’t get discouraged. If you fall behind in your reading, it’s okay. Keep pressing forward. You are not doing this as some legalistic challenge so that you can gain favor with God. You’re doing this to learn more about God and the redemption that is already yours through Jesus Christ.

  • As you read through the plan you have selected, spend time in prayer. Don’t just read the selected Scripture for the day and put your Bible up. Spend time praying before you read, and then spend time praying after you read. During your prayer time, ask the Holy Spirit to open up God’s Word to your heart and mind.
